Attention Facebook Users Of Bahria University!
X-news!
What if you are not allowed to login to your Facebook account in the university?
There are rumors that Bahrians will not be facilitated to login to the Facebook accounts in the coming day! Orkut, the other social network gaint, was previously banned in the university but these days Facebook is getting more attention. This Facebook trend is not only followed by the Bahrians but people from all over the world are addicted of using Facebook and other social networks!
X-news team suspects that about 67% of the university students have a Facebook account. Accoding to the higher authorities of Bahria, students are distracted by these social networks and most of them “waste time” surfing such sites. Many students are also found surfing Facebook while the teacher is delivering lecture.
Another point of view is that there should be freedom and University should not impose any kind of restriction in using the Internet facility.

In IIUI facebook is also banned and right after the bomb blast the next wek when univ was opened facebook was banned but still there are ways and proxies to opne it may be stds get this too in bahria…. where there is a will there is a way
They are right. it is quite a waste of time at uni that is. where you go to study.
university has to be a UNIVERSIty…there has to be freedom…n undergraduate n graduate students are mature enof to what to do? n when to do? so, m not backing up authorities decision(if they take) of imposing a ban on facebook…
I agree. All such websites, including Song websites should be banned.
Students who could use the computer for work end up in facing such facebookers occupying seats or song downloaders.
The ban would be a good step to make sure that Lab is used for studying purpose and avoiding unwanted rush at lab.
Well its not waste of time depends upon the purpose it is being used.
i think this is nt a gud idea….university students are mature enuf to knw the “rights n wr0ngs”, they knw wats gud for them n wats bad for them :p
n if higher authorities think that banning facebo0k w0uld make the students to concentrate on the lectures, they’r wr0ng……cz there are many other ways to waste time aswel…if a student cumz in the class to study, and listen to the lecture, he/she will do that, with or with0ut these min0r distracti0ns….bt if the student z only present in the class to mark their attendnce n pass the time…he/she w0nt c0ncentrate on lecture, facebo0k or no facebo0k…. :p
I agree with ali
Facebook should be banned in university because students just waste time surfing such sites and they do not complete their designated tasks, assignments and quiz.
This is true that they use facebook while teacher is delivering the lecture.
yes sir i agree with you. when you was delivering lectures we often used facebook.
There should be a switch in each lab that turns off the internet when ever the teacher wants while the systems should keep on working normally. No need to block facebook.
In 2005-6 orkut was blocked. But the question is WHY? University should provide leisure time for students too. Besided, facebook is not just leisure. People make good use of it too…
I am against this action….at certain end….
it should be banned only at dat time when clas is going on…otherwise not…..
and d answer about dat students occupied d seats and login on facebook, those who want to used net never get any seat…d answer of dis problem is that Lab 1 is mostly free of students bcz hardly 10 computers are attached eith net other not…..why…?????
lab assitants should connect those computers also…so students cant face dese kind of problems,…!!!

whatever!!
I admire this act of administration to ban Facebook in university. Students mostly waste their time while students who have to do their assignments and projects suffer.
lolx
But Students are students and they will find new ways to open these banned sites as students of IIUI do.
I love live music. Going to gigs and concerts is the best way to experience music. Live and Loud thats what I say..
